For herbalslim: HP using classic 1 GHz, not Tbird. At least that's what their specs say currently-- perhaps they'll switch it over at some point... but wouldn't that require a new mobo? Just how many classic 1 GHz parts are there anyhow? Enough to launch a new HP line, and fill in at Gateway for a bit, apparently. HP specs: hp-at-home.com (note 512 Kb L2 cache = classic, not tbird) However, given the wording of the Gateway email, and the response from amdzone, I suspect it is more about Gateway's motherboard than the 1 GHz Tbird itself.
