Personally, I think it would be good FOR AMERICA if every single person was drafted. Those not physically fit for active service could be put into some kind of desk job. I know, I went from a GENTLEMANLY C in Florida HS's to graduating FIRST IN MY CLASS for a private somewhat elite northern college. I doubt I got any smarter while in the service, I just learned DISCIPLINE and the value of a good education. IE the USMC MATURED ME. I think this nation is getting too damn soft. Plus, the service offers opportunities for inner city kids to see what the REAL WORLD is all about.
HOWEVER, all that being said, there is absolutely NO DOUBT in my mind looking at it FROM THE SERVICES VIEWPOINT an all volunteer service is much better for THEM. jdn
