Canadian Natural Resources needs gas prices to recover

CALGARY -- Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. said it needs natural gas prices to recover to the range of $6.50 to $7.50 per thousand cubic feet before it ramps up drilling in Alberta, regardless of new royalty incentives introduced by the province this week to stimulate activity.

Canada's second-largest natural gas producer said it is more likely to deploy its cash -- it expects cash flow to range between $5.4-billion to $6-billion this year, down from nearly $7-billion in 2008 -- on reducing debt coming due in the fall, higher-return projects, and acquisitions....
