Microsoft India Developing NT-Unix Services
(11/22/98, 12:16 p.m. ET)

- Microsoft's Indian unit is working on the next version of a product to make Windows NT and Unix, the world's leading flavors of computer network software, talk to each other.

<snip>

Koppolu said part of the code for the first version of Windows NT Services for Unix was bought from Intergraph Inc., while the rest was developed internally by Microsoft.

=====================================================================

Anybody know anything about Intergraph Inc. and their products?

<Intergraph Corporation (Huntsville, Ala.) is the world's largest company dedicated to supplying interactive computer graphics systems. Noted for delivering interoperable systems and applications, Intergraph bases its products on Windows, Windows 95, Windows NT, and UNIX operating systems. intergraph.com >

How will Solaris 7 work with the new NT Services for Unix? This could be a potential threat to SUNW but I suspect our management has a card or two to play to turn this into a positive for their products.
