There has been evidence of a pick up in demand for RF Wireless chips. TSM also says they are seeing greater demand for their foundry services. Flat panel designer Kopin also had good news today.

Kopin says Q3 revenues to exceed estimates

TAUNTON, Mass., Sept 24 (Reuters) - Flat panel display products maker Kopin Corp. (NasdaqNM:KOPN - news) announced Monday that results for its third quarter will exceed expectations amid higher customer demand and said the growth will continue in the fourth quarter.

Taunton, Massachusetts-based Kopin expects total revenue for the quarter ending Sept. 30 of between $11.6 million and $12 million, or about 25 percent more than its second-quarter revenue.

The company did not comment on its anticipated per-share results for the third quarter. Wall Street analysts on average expect the company to post a loss of 18 cents a share, according to Thomson Financial/First Call.

Kopin cited stronger-than-expected revenue growth in both its III-V and CyberDisplay businesses, including demand from customers such as Matsushita, JVC and Samsung. The company also cited continued orders from its newer HBT customers, coupled with a resurgence of business from some of the larger wireless customers with whom we have had long-term relationships, for the stronger revenue growth.

``Although the current economic environment is volatile, we are forecasting continued sequential revenue growth and further improved operating results in the fourth quarter.'' the company said.
