Doug,

<Why do you think KT133 will have much impact on Q2 earnings?>

Because almost every motherboard maker has been waiting for KT133s.

<Gateway, for instance, is using the 750 chipset. I suspect others might be doing the same.>

I doubt if most OEMs would ramp Spitfires or Thunderbirds on anything but KT133 (luckily for us longs Gateway is a notable exception).

It is also plenty clear that Thunderbird and Spitfire systems have been MIA at launch.

<And don't the big OEMs pay AMD when the tbirds arrive, not when they sell the systems built with them?>

That is correct. However, if OEMs see the motherboard shipments getting delayed, they will work with AMD to push out those shipments. Nevertheless, OEMs are clearly taking a good chunk of Thunderbirds now and a few spitfires for July shipments - that's why there would be fairly significant revenues from Thunderbirds and Spitfires in Q2.

<I don't see it having a big impact on Q2.>

I don't thinks so but we will know it for sure in about 2 weeks - If AMD ships more than 7Mu for Q2, you would be right.

Chuck
