Now I would never had done that...I always told my children I would trust them until they gave me reason not to...and it worked...

All three grew up to be great adults...sure I knew they weren't perfect, and at times drank, but they had enough sense to let someone else drive and they got home at a decent hour.

We use to have a call if you need a ride in our house with our kids helping to run it...they found out fast, many didn't have cars and used our kids as taxis, but that's okay, there were a few who really did need them.

None of my kids were nerds, I'm not trying to give that impression, but they had certain morals, and knew that someone had to take charge, and friends trust friend...so they set up this group...no telling how many people they saved.

One girl died right down the street from us when she was hit head on by a drunk driver...that hit home with all the kids, so they set up this group...once every month it was different people's turn to "man" the phones...

No girl ever went by herself on calls, (my son went with my daughter and he was 6'4" and worked out) and even the guys had back up with them, so it didn't get out of hand...It should have been adopted all over the country.

They never went anywhere they didn't know the caller or the address...it was very innovative of them, and it worked.
