Since it IS sunday evening I'll waste the thread's time with the observation that as a retired neurologist I find the concept of dementia in Thurmond quite interesting. I have never seen dementia in a mummy or a fossil.

When the Clinton impeachment trial was going on there was movement with Thurmond. I saw it clearly on TV. Another winner who would make a weird President is Jesse Helms. Helms has a lot of connections to leaders all over the world from his days as a member in the World Anti-Communist League. Kinda like a world wide organization of dixiecrats. Thurmond I think reformed himself in the 1970s and said he was wrong to oppose segregation. Not sure if Helms did. Hemls is the real fossil on capital hill.

May favorite was Bob Dornan. He was Congressman from Orange County CA. Place of Disneyland. He wanted to launch in investigation in Congress to determine whether or not Bill Clinton was a KGB double agent. He failed to get re-elected but was always a great entertainer. A complete wacko.
