It would be nice if iraq could attain democracy and its three groups learn to live with each other. Earlier i thought they would. Now i think they need pressure from us to even have a chance at such an outcome or we might have to live with three states rather than one. If we can do it with the old yugoslavia, we can do it with iraq even if sunniland remains a quagmire after we leave. Having said that, the federal somewhat dem state is the best outcome but time is not on our side, not necessarily from a military pov but from the homefront problem we discussed.
