That's a bit contemptuous. The difference this time, I would say, is that the US is unambiguously on Israel's side. On previous occasions, the US assumed an ambivalent posture and pretended to be an honest broker. This time there's no pretence as both Israel and the US attempt to redraw the map of the ME together and in accordance with their similar neocon PNAC and Clean Break policy documents.
