Download Your 1099 to Tax Preparation Software

Beginning with Tax Year 2005 reporting, Schwab will implement the ability to download data from the 1099 Composite form to vendor tax preparation packages. Initially, Schwab will support the download of data to Intuit's TurboTax product (subsequently, we will add download capability for form 1099-B data to CCH's GainsKeeper CompleteTax application). Download your 1099 information from within the TurboTax software by opening your tax form and selecting the option to download 1099 information from your financial institution. Click on Charles Schwab on the list of participating financial institutions and you will see a logon screen (click here to see example). Enter your Schwab logon and password and you will be able to access the tax data file for download into TurboTax. Note: For Tax Year 2005, the downloads will NOT include cost basis data on sold assets.
