Would you like a computer with those fries?

IBM computer for $599 ...

cbs.marketwatch.com

The Aptiva D1N features: 32MB, 3.2GB, a 56K modem and an IBM 300 performance rated MMX-enhanced processor. The Aptiva also includes Lotus SmartSuite, as well as browser and other Internet options.

I don't see how MSFT fits into the future of computing. People wouldn't pay more for a better (Macintosh) operating system ... why will they pay more for a sh_tty one?

How does MSFT keep up margins on $599 computers?

Linux, Solaris 7.0, JAVA, Jini, Netscape ... Bill can't sleep.

The desktop is doomed. Bloatware will join the dinosaurs.

Forget the DOJ. MSFT has some SERIOUS problems down the road.

Linux and Solaris ... 64 bit, 64 bit, 64 bit ... lean, mean, computing MACHINES.

It would be a boring thread without Toy.

Best of luck everyone.
