Mq, What the white Europeans did to the Indians in the Americas, was indeed a crime, and was perpetrated by all of the countries that were involved in the conquest. The North American Indians were being killed by the Spanish, French, and English, long before there was a United States of America, so that tendency was ingrained in them from European practices.

I agree that what man has done to man over the centuries has been a criminal act, whether it was sanctioned, or not. I didn't mention these acts in other parts of the world, because it didn't involve my ancestry, and I was not aware of the treaty between Victoria and the Maoris, which is why I asked the question that started this conversation.

What was tradition before the white man appeared on the horizon, such as the cannibalism of the Maoris, and the cutting out of the heart by the Aztecs, were really none of our business, as brutal as it may have been. It is good that these practices were stopped, but in some cases, the cure was just about as bad as the illness.

Any such thing that happened from the 19th century on, like Stalin, and Hitler, were even worse, because mankind should have known better by then.
