actually my niece who was bit first, had gone to the doctor and he said it was the flu

after she found the bite, she went on the internet and concluded it was Lyme's

went back to the doc, the bite was 12" wide by then with the "bullseye" pattern - he took one look and said no need for testing, it's Lyme's

when niece number 2 got the symptoms, she looked for the bite - didn't materialize till 4 days after symptoms - the doctors down here [city] couldn't recognize the bite, but with her sisters story put her on the antibiotics

bottom line, it's hard to detect, you need the right doctor and need to be proactive
