Gerald,

I've never yet invested in a restaurant company. The closest I came to this category was an investment in a barbeque sauce company, believe it or not, a few years ago.

Like you, I always have my Peter Lynch antenna up figuring that if I buy something and its good, others probably agree and the stock might just rise.

Sometimes my radar isn't set right and I miss something right under my nose. I'm still sneezing because I failed to pick up on Yahoo even though I was using the service all the time and felt it was truly "best of breed". I guess I figured that since it was "free" it must be run by a bunch of hippies interested in other things than money. Little did I realize the strength of the ad-revenue model, a no-brainer in retrospect.

Back on the subject of food, thanks for that link to the article on TJs (Trader Joes) on WFMI thread. That's one to buy if it ever goes public. I think TJ is a sub of a large private German supermarket company though, so I wont hold my breath.

I have been considering buying LTUS but have refrained from pulling the trigger mainly because it has already had quite a run recently. I also considered Fresh Choice for their comeback potential. Besides WFMI, the other company I am considering in the food category is GBUR, because of their strong sales growth. However their sequential sales growth has flattened out for now, pending mid-May last episode of Seinfeld $1.5MM commercial gamble. I think it might pan out rather well, if you will pardon my pun.
