Walkingshadow,

I checked the Lancet site but could not find the information.

I have been following HIV vaccines for some time now. The biggest problem I see is big pharma is just not interested.

There are several other vaccines in the works other than the ones you listed.

The one I currently follow the most is HGP-30W, from Cel-Sci (AMEX:HIV). It is based on a the p17 protein, which is found in the core of the virus. This area mutates less then the other parts of the virus. It is currently in phase II in the Netherlands. I expect a release of the phase II data soon, and additional trials to follow.

Here is the company link to the data:

cel-sci.com

But, as I said before, nobody seems interested. This company keeps pushing forward and I expect to someday see a partnership to really push the development. But until then the world waits and dies.

I saw an article about AIDS in Africa last week. It said the life expectancy in southern Africa has dropped for 65 years to 40 years in the past 10 years. All because of AIDS. The author said if current trends continue, most of southern Africa will be void of people within 25 years. 40% of the children are born with AIDS today.

And nobody cares.

Rick
