CARLSTADT, NJ--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 26, 2000--Tel-Instrument Electronics
Corp ("Tel") today announced the initial deliveries of the AN/APM 480 IFF
(Identification, Friend or Foe) Transponder Set Test Set (TSTS ) to the U.S.
Navy. The Company has now received orders for more than 950 units, totaling
over $12 million. The AN/APM-480 is a militarized avionics ramp tester used
to simulate IFF Transponder/ Interrogator and TCAS (collision avoidance)
functions to provide accurate go, no-go testing on the flightline and
aircraft carrier deck.
Company President Harold K. Fletcher stressed the significance of the
program and its contribution to the Company's steadily growing sales. "The
AN/APM-480 program will contribute greatly to our overall sales base and
will allow Tel to maintain a healthy balance between military and commercial
sales."
Growing distributor sales in Europe and Asia-Pacific regions are also
expected to help Tel continue positive growth for the next several years.
Tel-Instrument Electronics Corp designs, manufactures, and sells avionics
test equipment to the general aviation, commercial aviation, and
government/military aviation markets, both domestically and internationally.
The Company's stock is traded in the NASDAQ System under the symbol TINE.
