I doubt Matsu. would have problems getting MCA to release content in DVD format, with or without copyright protection. Matsu. gives Skip Paul a free hand to run the studio but in strategic matters he definitely jumps as high as they say. At least that was the general impression at 3DO: because MCA had a "separate" capital investment, Paul was on the 3DO board in his own right, supposedly, as MCA honcho (plus he was Trip's big "Hollywood synergy" contact)...but the bottom line was that Matsu. controlled that holding as firmly as their own direct investment. (Boy, do I remember some big talk about how MCA and 3DO were gonna take the content world by storm. Seems pretty hollow in retrospect.)
