Main screen: New layout to optimize space, includes last refresh time. Fast sort of individual topics. Does not hit SI servers to perform re-sort, unless one explicitly clicks the 'Refresh' icon. In the demo, the Active Subjects list is sorted and then refreshed.
Infinite scroll. To make the app fast, when scrolling through a message board, only 40 full messages are downloaded in their entirety at a time, along with previews of images found within those messages. Thus viewing the message by tapping it requires no download and is instant. When you scroll to the end of the group of 40 downloaded messages, you momentarily "bump" the bottom of the list, and another 40 messages are quickly downloaded and tacked on. The new messages "pop" into view, the scrollbar repositions and the wait pattern appears and disappears for clear indication when the update is occurring. To conserve memory, the list is automatically limited to 80 posts, but this is transparent. When you scroll back up, a similar "bump", download and list expansion occurs, as shown in the demo.
Full Landscape support is implemented, with the screen layout optimized for this view as well.
I did find that youtube video quality improves with DVD quality video upload (not sure why... desktop quality is already higher res than they serve up). But the DVD quality upload through Charter cable is remarkably fast, so these vids and those going forward should be a little sharper than in the past. Nonetheless, the appearance via youtube video does no justice to how good it looks on a Nokia Lumia 900 or any real device. Here's a couple of stills, which look much better, but also aren't nealy as good as it looks on the phone.
