In financial terms I really don't know. Except that the loss per share for the previous three quaters has been declining. Once the earnings turn positive ( 6- 12 months??)we will probably see an upturn in their fortunes. Technology wise, I think they have an impressive array of patents for viable commercial applications. The problem , as others have pointed out, is with their execution ('Flavor saver' Tomatoes disaster- if repeated for other product introductions would probably be unacceptable to their new parent. Just MHO.

Perhaps, Monsanto can provide the necessary management expertize and discipline.
