Award" at UNIX Expo

Business Editors

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 1996--The Scalar 218
Tape Library from ADIC (NASDAQ:ADIC) received a UNIX-NT Technology
Award at UNIX Expo, held in New York Oct. 8-10, 1996.
Scalar 218 is the highest capacity desktop DLT tape library in
the world, with a capacity of 1.26 terabytes. The Scalar 218, which
is being announced today, was demonstrated publicly for the first
time last week at UNIX Expo. The award, presented by Windows NT
Magazine, is for innovative technology in support of the UNIX and NT
operating systems.
Windows NT Magazine Managing Technical Editor John Enck helped
select a total of 12 award winners from among the several hundred
exhibitors at UNIX Expo. He said, "These awards recognize products
that incorporate important new capabilities for users and developers
in both the UNIX and NT communities. By bringing over a terabyte of
storage to the desktop, the Scalar 218 meets that criterion."
The Scalar 218 is available beginning Nov. 15. Prices start
at $14,895. Base price includes one year on-site service on all
models.
ADIC has been providing storage solutions since its founding in
1983. It is the leading drive-independent supplier of automated tape
