Royale Completes Another Natural Gas Well at Bowerbank SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 14, 1999--The Bowerbank #13 well was drilled to offset an existing down dip producer in the Royale Energy, Inc.(Nasdaq/NMS:ROYL - news) Bowerbank field located 20 miles northwest of Bakersfield, CA. The logs indicate that the well has encountered the Bowerbank sands higher than the offset well and has also penetrated sands not present in the offset producer. A total of six natural gas bearing intervals have been identified, with a total net sand thickness of 42 feet.
The deepest interval was perforated and completed with a stabilized flow rate of 1,050 MCF per day.
The Company's Bowerbank 5C well is being drilled and is currently at a depth of 2,500 feet.
The Bowerbank 5C is being drilled up dip from the Company's Bowerbank 5B. The Bowerbank 5B well has been producing from the root and mya sands since April 1997. The current production rate remains above 1,000 MCF per day, with cumulative production from the well in excess of 600,000 MCF.
In addition to the expected production from the six known sands present in the Bowerbank 5B, the 5C well also contains a new target sand, shown on seismic at a depth of 8,000 feet.
The Bowerbank 5C well will be drilled directionally to test each of these objective sands. The well was spud on April 12, 1999, and is expected to reach total depth by April 27, 1999, with the log results available by May 3, 1999.
