Peter, welcome....It's good to see some actual answers. As you've been reading through this thread, I'm sure you've noticed that I now work for Candescent Technology (formerly Silicon Video). Like yourself, I'll be avoiding any conflict of interest issues. It's interesting to finally hear about Kopin's technology. I don't follow LCD development very closely. Just enough to be aware of the amazing strides they've been making in what has always seemed to me to be an awkward technology. I don't know what method Kopin is using to separate the silicon circuitry from silicon wafer, but I worked with a group that did something similar with diamond. An implanted layer a few microns below the surface was electrochemically etched, releasing the mostly undamaged surface layer. Do you expect that Kopin's devices will find much use in head-mounted displays, projection, or something else? -bob mackey
