Well, I imagine that since the Nazis were such terrific record keepers, they provided all the rope necessary to hang themselves with. But I can guarantee you that MK-Ultra SIGINT intercepts were not part of the evidence presented at Nuremburg. Ultra wasn't revealed publicly until the '70s.

In the case of OBL, I imagine they will find sufficient evidence to implicate him and his group in the Sept 11th attacks, as well as the embassy bombings and USS Cole without having to resort to using classified sources and methods.

In which case, I'm sure they trial may well be public.

Of course, there's the consideration of whether putting OBL on trial in a public forum might expand muslim sympathy for him (obviously he'll discuss irrelevant issues like the Palestinian-Israeli issue to justify his actions), warranting keeping the public out of the proceeds.

I'm of a mixed opinion about it... Personally, if we put him on public trial and a certain percentage of Muslims declare sympathy for him, then I guess we'll know which Arab populations to worry about in the future, and be able to take the appropriate action. But if we play it low-key, and keep it out of the public, then many muslims may just forget about it over time and his name will fade to nothingness.

But my greatest preference is to just plug him on sight. Call it an accident.... claim he was resisting arrest... whatever... As far as I'm concerned he has forfeited his right to live.

And since this is war, I don't have to treat him with the same respect as I might treat a common criminal. Because when nations go to war, it generally due to a utter breakdown of legal mechanisms to solve the problem, and now becomes an animalistic fight for survival... ours, or his.
