Usually corn or oats or a mixture of the two. It's fed to horses for the protein value, usually 12-14-16% depending on the horses need. A horse just standing around does well on 12% but if you have a nursing mare, she needs the 16% and a little more of it.

It's called sweet feed because a lot of the time it has molasses mixed in to make it tasty. Too much grain can cause a horse to founder, a fatal foot problem.
