reid, thanks for all the time. got off the tractor long enough to look at some charts with the idea of a buy when the macd crosses down, and it seems to me that often as not the stock will go lower from there. the stochastic crossover seems a safer signal. is it possible to try and find where the two offer a similar signal and thus have more certainty? i had asked earlier your thots on software. do you use any outside of what is available online? as i said i was thinking of metastock - not that i'm a big time-trader, far from it. i do trade almost daily, but it's the absolute fun of it joined with some profit that engages me. however, by adding the stochastics and bollinger bands to my views i feel i am getting a much better picture without the added software. thanks much, don
