Richard,

<<But is hard rock really necessary for a massive precious metal holding?>>

IMO no .... the importance of the hard rock find, is that it may help explain the source of the Au and Pt ... most deposits have a "source" and from a geological perspective it would have put a lot of the pieces of the puzzle in place.... that is why the company got a bit side-tracked last year when the hard rock was discovered by a couple of repected geologists from OZ. The company had hired them to conduct a more thorough overview of the geology of the site.

I am not aware if the hard rock samples have been analyzed ... to my knowledge they have not been - or if they have, the results have not been made available yet. As to why that is the case - I have no explanation.
