Here are a couple interesting news bits...

In Larry Ellison's address at Comdex, he said that thousands of NCs
would be shipped by year's end. He said he didn't think that NCs would
replace PCs, but he felt that eventually, there would be more NCs in
use than PCs. The article, from Computer Reseller News on WebTech,
said that Ellison is slated to make a Network Computing announcement
at Radio City Music Hall, N.Y. on June 24th. I wonder if this is the
announcement that was alluded to during the WIND conference call?

In the latest issue of DV, an article on DTV (used to be called HDTV)
said that the computer industry plans to ship 20 million DTV-ready
PCs by the end of 1998. In addition, Intel was quoted as saying that
by the year 2000, all PCs will be shipped with DTV receivers. This
sure sounds like I2O on the desktop to me! The same issue of DV talks
about the high bandwidth I/O required to handle DTV video and audio.
I2O may be ramping up faster than anyone thought!
