Nadine, I was trying to point out an example where it helps to know the other person's culture/custom/religion/etc. Its not my place to discuss the appropriateness with them. I just need to understand the protocol, so I dont offend someone. How do u think I feel, not meeting my friend of 20+years ? Such is life. I will go to their house, talk to her thru a veiled partition, and next year will meet her in person.
