Re. the laptop, I like its portablity features, but not the price! Re. the computer I now have---I bought it through Computer Shopper. It was warranted for only one year. And the troubles began on it after about 15 months. I paid $2200 for it which included Word Perfect software. The shop where I took it looked at the invoice and said they didn't send me the monitor that they charged me for. I hadn't noticed that because one of the words in the monitor was the same (View Magic is what I got). The monitor they charged me for was supposed to have had a two year warranty on it, but alas, when I called them, they literally told me I should have caught the mistake and that I had 30 days to have caught that---they said since it was a manufacturers warranty, they couldn't (wouldn't) do anything about it.
So, I have been operating with a faulty monitor (it goes small and I have to manually bring it back to size). The service man has been able to "freeze" it to 3/4 size the last time so it doesn't become miniscule. So here I sit with $2200 invested and two major service repairs---plus it still goes out on me after I run it for awhile. So
I'm skittish about getting a complete overhaul. I've just been putting up with it lately.
But so much for computers and mammon.
Scripture tells us to "Pray without ceasing, and in everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." In fact, I wrote a chorus using that scripture a number of years ago.
So---"Thank you Lord for the balky computer and monitor."
Also, we read (is it in James? "Count it all joy when you fall into diverse trials and tribulation, knowing that the trying of your faith works patience, but let patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, lacking nothing." Ouch, I haven't tried to quote that one for some time---it doesn't quite sound right, I'll probably cringe when I look it up. In any event, God knows his word letter perfect and He accepts my bumblings.
Love.
Joy.
Peace.
Jack
