One would think its logical and economical to have some group control the security of those places before new occupants come in...after the previous occupants have left..

Logic and economy has nothing to do with Gaza. Many efforts have been made to improve the economy in Gaza, all have been undermined by the corruption of Fatah and the irridentism of Hamas, who practice la politique du pire - worse is better for them. The Palestinians are the highest per capita recipients of foreign aid in history of the world, and they have nothing to show for it.

There is no group who could or would control the security of those places, don't you undesrtand that?

But then, how should you, if you just read the MSM reports, they report games of make-believe about the PA.

As Hugh Hewitt pointed out, few serious observers would argue that the chances of the Iraqi government taking control of Iraq are worse than the (very low) chances of the PA taking control of the West Bank and Gaza - so why is the Iraqi government reported on with unrelenting skepticism, but the PA reported on as if it were functioning, with many urgent admonitions to Israel and the US to give this money or that concession to "strengthen" the "administration" of Abu Mazen?
