I had some friends living in the U.S. Virgin Islands (school teacher-roughly 15 years ago), who advised getting on a plane back to the states if any health problems arose that might require a hospital. I've heard Medina is a lovely place and it's on my vacation list. Costa Rica is also a lovely place that I have been to which has reasonably priced health care and is theoretically retiree friendly. At one point I entertained fantasies about bailing out and living somewhere tropical where a dollar goes a lot further. The older I get and the more I see, the more I'm inclined to stay put right here in the good old U. S. of A. ARS
