Hi Robert! I've been using a PalmIIIx for over 14 months now. I use it extensively, especially for my business. I keep all my essential Word documents on my Palm. As a businessman, I need to carry my business in the Palm of my hand at all times. I don't like Paper. It frees my pockets for more essential things.

I only surf the web on my Palm about an hour a day. It's good when I'm out at night and I want to check the Futures Markets. I also use it to post on SI and trade once in a while. I use the Puma Proxiweb Browser for Trading since it supports SSL technology. However, the Eudora Web Browser is much quicker for web surfing. Qualcomm expects to come out with a browser that supports SSL technology shortly. Palmscape has just came out with a new web browser. But it is still in the Beta stage so I will wait.

The Yahoo Instant Messenger for the Palm works great and is much better than ICQ.

I've been using the Verizon Wireless service for $24.95 a month, unlimited access from Boston to South Carolina. It has been very reliable and is the cheapest around.

My business is primarily locally centered so I don't use my Palm for printing or scanning. But there are a host of applications out there.

I like the PalmIIIx a lot because it is the only Palm that allows you to put a flash card or pager in it. You can also increase the memory to 32MB if you like. I don't view myself as a "high techie" but I know the inside of my Palm very well and do know the functioning capabilities of the Palm better than the technical support at Verizon.

I use Yahoo mail on my Palm to retrieve my Email from my PC.

I get real time quotes from my Palm using SI very easily during the day.

Here are a few links.

BTW, the Palm is better than the Pocket PC for the businessman.
