Creditman: Thanks for your comments. My sense is,though, that price wars are not a function of companies wanting to get into them, but rather of an excess of supply over demand that forces companies into them.

I know that capacity has risen considerably over the last few years, but then so has demand, especially for those companies that have the state of the art equipment and the ability to serve the HWP's of the world. So demand has gone up, but so has supply. Rising margins for the decade thus far tells me that demand has risen more than effective supply, but could the high stock prices (and the ease of raising capital that results) be tipping the see-saw in the other direction? Is there an industry association that publishes figures on capital investment, so one can get some handle on the supply side?
