1) AT&T when the big time phone battles with the local telcos
begin over the next year as the locals are allowed into LD

2) MSFT when transaction stuff on the net is better developed.
(They see continuing revenue from transactions as the ROI.
That's why they tried to buy Intuit)

Neither is in a rush. AOL's churn -- and its own success with lower price-- has demonstrated that they can grab customers anytime on
price.

Besides, online penetration is now at only 12% of households.
They'll go for the jugular when it's bigger.

THE issue lost in the current AOL sauce is how and when is AOL
going to turn a profit. They stated long ago that at best they
would break-even on flat rate, and they're now well behind the
8 ball even on that. Ability of advertising to bring AOL to
profit is far far from being demonstrated -- unless you want to
make wild hockey stick projections based upon a tiny body of evidence.
