Problem is that NSM's exposure to the PC market is miniscule compared with a lot of other companies we know.

Actually, IDC's report that came out today is not that bad at all (the one that says Asia and notebooks are helping hold the thing together). Thing is, in this kind of market, the street is believing the Apples and Gateways more than the IDCs, CPQs and Intels.

NSM was pretty positive on wireless; saying investory corrections will be over soon.

Maybe their low exposure to the PC space is a good tell of how things are going. I believe they supply smaller components that make up the PC. I realize they don't make CPUs anymore. It may still be a good indicator. One has to remember that the demand for their PC components would be dropping off just on price if the market was deteriorating. The bigger suppliers would be getting more business. I think they can make judgements based upon how much the customers "haggle" them. That is why NSM's comments are also significant.

The way the PC is getting hammered, one would think that demand is about to fall off the cliff. I don't think that is the case. Therefore, MSFT and Intel are probably great buys here (I don't hold much of either).

I do think some "analyst" is going to put a slightly positive spin on the NSM earnings and try to be the first in upgrading the semis that are in wireless.
Of course that positive will spill over.
