Ameritrade has always made it possible to buy Canadian stocks through their .PK symbol, and I've been buying a lot. Recently I had a bad experience selling one though, and I hope it isn't typical. I had a sell order at the limit of US $2.15 on WEESF.PK (WEE.V) when it took a jump. When I noticed, at 14:45, it was at about CAN $2.65, and I immediately cancelled the order. Straight away it executed, at US $2.15. At that time the price of WEE.V had dropped a bit to CAN $2.65, which was about US $2.40. It seems to me that the price I got was about US $0.25 low, which on 5000 shares made me short about US $1250. I've attempted to get satisfaction from Ameritrade, but according to them this was a "good fill". If so, my true portfolio value is significantly less than it appears.
