Jeff, first off Amazon.com has no earnings but had 44c in losses. Second, the report was not better than expected unless you use funky accounting for non-tangeables.

Secondly, Amazon's CEO and CFO warned about slowing growth, lessened margins lessened sales growth and lower market share due to what they view as increased competition. The outlook is drastically lower than what speculators fantasize about and is necessary to sustain the stock price.

In addition, the fat margins that Amazon management and analysts anticipate won't happen due to what IBM and other independent and unprejudiced industry authorities say will occur - very high degrees of price competition.

If you are determined to remain bullish on Amazon.com, please do because it just gives the bears more ammunition to take more foolish money that's being thrown at the inflated internet stocks. I'll thank you in advance for your generous contribution.
