I don't try. I say something like
"Cuomo has almost 76K cases, wouldn't let DiBlasio close down NYC when he wanted to, and gets on TV a lot. Newsom has almost 7500 cases, was the 1st mainland governor to lock down the state, and doesn't get on MSNBC."
