When the "collateral damage" includes the death of 100,000's of thousands of innocent sons and daughters, their mothers rightly
harbor deep hatred and resentment. The blame, rightly or wrongly is put on America. These mothers pass on that hatred and
point of view to the surviving siblings and the following generation. This is the womb of terrorism.

In South and Central America 100's of thousands of innocent people have been killed as a result of US foreign policy but the mothers there are not teaching their children the US is the Great Satan, etc. The folk there who preach such a thing are a small number of Maoist types who don't thave a big following because the last ten years the S and C America have become more democratic.

It's the proponents of ideology which generate the high feeling and they have to have a vehicle. This time around the vehicle is Islam and objective condition of injustice where those folk live.
