Just dont loose heart or chicken out. Remember, ascend has twice the number of products with the CSCC merger. ATM over wan, sahara access concentrators, IP Navigator, etc. Has, anyone mentioned the future?. ATM over WAN is growing signigicantly (read Instat report). Ascend has the GRF, & the TNT line. So, why panic over one quarter?. Do you have faith in management?. Do you have faith in the strategy? Do you have faith in the products. If not bail out and get "G", else remain. The next "CISCO" is in its embroynic stage. Yaa sure its gloom and doom, along with uncertainity. That leads to the stage where the reward matches the risk. So, we have all the negatives factored in. Do you really think that Ascend does not have a long term strategy?. Don't you think they are working on upgrading the GRF & TNT line. In every high tech company, the next thing is though off "wish list" while working on a current version of the prodcut. The "wish list" eventually becomes your next version. Yaa sure some products get overheated (lack of fan) etc. not adequately tested... Do you really think that CISCO has tested there access equipment perfectly?. No, not possible. Don't you think CISCO too will have a longer acceptance cycle?. Sure thing. So, what ills are prevailing Ascend now is not just company specific. If you think the fundamentals have changed, bail out. If not give at least 2 quarters to iron out the issues.... The WAN space is the future. Guess what. CISCO realised this and is pushing agressively. I own ASND & COMS not CISCO which I believe stifiles creativity.
