But it's a difficult debate to even get started when one side thinks that we should be extremely concerned with the possibility that someone, somewhere might have desecrated the Korans of the people responsible for the murders of Daniel Pearl, Nick Berg, Fabrizio Quattrocchi, three-thousand Americans and now hundreds upon hundreds of Iraqi civilians.

Typical blind-eye type of comment that misses the point.

The point isn't that all Muslims are murderers. The point isn't that the Koran belongs to bad people. At least, if that's the point, let's go ahead and either kill them all or convert them by force.

The point is extremely narrow -- is desecration of Korans official US policy? If so, stop it. If not, stop whoever is doing it. If it's not happening, say so soon, loudly and often, to drown out the liars.

But, well, it's predictable that blind eyes will be turned and Muslims will be demonized and Korans will be reviled, even by otherwise rational people. So predictable. You can't change human nature.
