Number of shares is fixed, price is not. Evidently it will be the average of the high and low of IDX on the day before the merger is consummated. I just noticed that IDX did not trade over 200,000 shares on any day after July 21 until Friday November 13. 11/13/98 open 7 1/8 high 7 7/8 low 7 1/8 last 7 7/8. 211,700 shares traded. IDX had traded a total of 217,500 monday through thursday of that week. The IDX IDT announcement was monday nov. 16. High the following week was 9 3/8. Nice short play I would say! S 4 stuff is great. Approx. 650k slap pre tax each quarter after merger. I would be careful on the calls Rob. I think IDX is in PLAY! From the S 4:
"STOCKHOLDERS ARE URGED TO OBTAIN CURRENT QUOTATIONS FOR THE MARKET PRICES OF
IDENTIX COMMON STOCK. NO ASSURANCE CAN BE GIVEN AS TO THE MARKET PRICE OF
IDENTIX COMMON STOCK AT THE EFFECTIVE TIME OF THE MERGER. THE NUMBER OF SHARES
TO BE ISSUED BY IDENTIX IN THE MERGER IS FIXED. ACCORDINGLY, THE MARKET VALUE
OF THE SHARES OF IDENTIX COMMON STOCK THAT HOLDERS OF IDT COMMON STOCK WILL
RECEIVE IN THE MERGER MAY VARY SIGNIFICANTLY FROM THE PRICES SHOWN ABOVE" David, are officers of companies incorporated in Delaware able to be better insulated from legal actions against said corporation than in California? InDANtix
