Hi Cas, You all make valid points about giving up so much time value in the LEAPs if you have viable alternatives. The LEAPs are a great revenue stream that should not be dumped so soon. I have to chuckle! I noticed yesterday the slogan the CBOE uses to market the LEAPs. "Why own a stock, when you can lease a LEAP?" The comparison to a car lease fits the bill. The moral of the story. Don't buy a LEAP and write spreads if you plan to let go of it anytime soon! :-)
