I’m confused over the media coverage of Jesse Jackson’s "love child.” Is this child the result of a rape? Is the 39-year-old lover of the so-called spiritual leader a victim of Jackson’s sexual assault? Is this woman who bore Jesse Jackson’s illegitimate baby a crime victim?
If not, why in the world would numerous media organizations hide her identity? I thought the media protected the identity only of women who are rape victims. Yet CNN, NBC and others have gone out of their way to hide this woman’s name, at least during the first day of the coverage. Their news story is all about Jackson and his long-suffering wife and five children, but contains not a single mention of the name of the woman who knowingly and willingly participated in an adulterous affair with a married man. A man who puts "Reverend” in front of his name, no less.
I’m really sick of the way our culture twists the role that a woman plays in a hurtful, hateful sexual affair. Remember how Monica Lewinsky was characterized as a pitiful young girl who was taken advantage of by Bill Clinton? Give me a break. These home-wrecking women are a disgrace. Their slutty, shameful willingness to hop into bed with powerful, older men serves as a lousy example for young men and women everywhere.
Don’t get me wrong: Bill Clinton and Jesse Jackson are pigs. They’re cut from the same bolt of cloth. How appropriate it was that Jackson counseled Clinton during the Monica scandal. Wouldn’t you love to hear how THOSE counseling sessions went, eh? Maybe the two of them compared lusty notes. But it takes two consenting adults to participate in an adulterous relationship that brings such pain and heartache to a married man’s family.
Let’s be sure to know who BOTH of the guilty parties are in the case of Jesse Jackson’s love child. Her name is Karin Stanford. She still works for Jackson’s Rainbow Coalition, as a "research consultant.” And she says that Jackson pays her $10,000.00 a month to support their 20-month-old baby.
At $10,000.00 a month, she could be considered quite a successful call girl. After all, how much money does a 20-month-old baby need for Cheerios? |
