Ironically, it was recently reported in the New Yorker that Pham Xuan An, a reporter for Time magazine, was an agent for North Vietnam. Not ironically, but some other word, he had access to intelligence reports which were given by the Pentagon and various administrations during the war to Time, which shared them among their reporters. Reportedly, An had complete access to information that had been leaked to Time, and gave it to the North Vietnamese government.

Sorry, I don't have a link, despite the fact that I have a paid subscription to the New Yorker, they don't give me any better access to their website than non-subscribers.

At any rate, the An story is a good reason why reporters shouldn't be able to stonewall prosecutors.
