I'd certainly call "creation science" more of an apriori story than evolutionary theory, since the creation story exists before looking at taxonomy or fossils and such. But being untestable at this point, evolutionary theory is also a tale, one containing more than a little of the Idea of Progress that was so popular in the 19th century. Why in a world of entropy should organisms "progress" from the simple to the complex? Who knows? Why ask? Don't spoil the story.... Are organisms biologically similar because they share common descent, or because these designs are the only ones that "work"? Only one answer fits the story, but how can we know which one is true? When we look at fossil history, the fishes just explode into existence, seemingly from nowhere. Shouldn't we find a chain of ancestors? If evolution can be forced in the lab it will help to explain the process, which at this time we just have to take on faith.
