Mike, I realize that Corel expects to make a lot of money
on their Java stuff next year. However, personally I believe
the earnings in the next few years will have to come from
their Windows software.
In fact, given that Corel's office for Java and its office for
Windows don't seem to have much common ground (regarding
user interface, esp.), I wonder if it wouldn't be a good idea
at this time to split off the Java development unit as a tax-free
distribution to shareholders. This way investors would get a
(well, almost) pure play on a PC software company and also,
Java investors would be able to buy into one of the very few
companies that are going to offer office software for Java.

Both new companies' share price (and shareholders) might benefit
dramatically. Also because at least short-term a takeover of
a small purely Java-oriented company part might be a possibility.
