I don't know of an assoc. that publishes what you want but remember; there are many types of companies here being discussed as if they were all in the same business. They are not! Multek (DIIG) is like SCI and Solectron ... they build the entire product for manufacturers ... like IBM most recently, that are getting out of the business of building their own products. ELEX (and their new masters, Sanmina) build boards and back panels... very intricate boards with very high margins. Altron does a lot of assembly. Praegitzer does some assembly. How can you compare and what would the figures mean if you could, how much was being invested in capital equipment? Also there is the industry difference ... Some specialize in communications like CMCI and ELEX. Some are generalists. Others like PGTZ are mostly in computers and related equipment. Some do only quick turn in the US and volume in places like Maylasia. Some are moving to Mexico but there are lots of pure US (pure Japanese too) PCBs and ECMs

In the "Bad Old Days" the owners of the many small shops started price wars partly because they didn't know what their costs really were. Those guys are all gone now. They can't afford the price of the machines needed today to compete. Now it is a little like the hard drive industry.. The Seagates and WDs are too smart to cut prices too far for market share ...They cut capacity instead.

Anyway, to summerize, the whole trend towards outsourcing makes this a truly Brave New World for ECMs.
