You've once again not grasped SI Dave's point. No sense in me trying to explain why over and over to knock some sense into you.

And while I posted the story about Penn and Sacha merely as an example of a thoughtful discussion that touches on CDA 230, as opposed to for the purposes of actually discussing the content, I feel compelled to respond to what you wrote by offering an anecdote from a history class I was in:

When discussing the subject of WWII and the painfully high number of Jews killed, someone of Soviet origin tried to make the point that because there were more of her ancestors killed in the war who "you never hear about", world history about WWII in general was biased. Apples and oranges. It was pointed out that Jews have an expression "Never Forget". Because if you forget something is possible, then you fail to recognize when it may be happening again, hence you fail to take steps to not let it happen again. That one's perception may be altered by this philosophy does not mean there is a bias. Rather, it may simply imply other aggrieved groups have not made a similar approach as much of a priority. That it may be human nature for someone to "play along to be nice" to someone they disagree with, even one espousing genocide, is nothing new. But that's precisely why you need to educate people about the consequences of perhaps not speaking up in these sorts of circumstances. For example, schools now teach kids that decrying bullying is the right thing to do if a friend ever suggests doing so.

That one perceives certain news outlets and/or social media sites as biased because they do not fit their worldview is also apples and oranges. It's also dangerous. No question the Internet started out as the "great equalizer". Witness the Arab Spring. However, beware the unintended consequences-- that what we perceive as "people like us" telling us "the real truth" may well be state actors feeding us propaganda. I'm all for anonymity, but that doesn't mean I don't want to know the type of entity I'm interacting with. CDA 230 for sure allows everyone on the playing field. I just want to be sure the rules of the game remain not necessarily fair but for sure transparent.
